Salma ya Salama (Arabic Version) - 190 sec
Salma Ya Salama is an Egyptian popular song (composed by Sayed Darwish), re-released in 1977 by artist Dalida in Egyptian Arabic, then in French. It was among the first Ethnic fusion hit in all the world, recorded in four languages (Egyptian Arabic, French, German, and Italian: "Uomo di sabbia"), and was credited to a singer with the name "Singer of Peace" in Egypt that same year.
Salma Ya Salama was also an album released by Dalida that same year, containing the title song and other hits. The song "Salma Ya Salama" has been performed by other artists, such as Alabina, Chantal Chamandy, Jean Michel Jarre and Ziynet Sali.
Part of the lyrics are based on an Egyptian folk song about a man wandering in the desert between the dunes, the whole time seeing a mirage of a paradise-like garden.
